Fish Creek to Washington Island & return. Our host hotel is Parkwood Lodge - Door County.
Washington Island is the largest of Door County’s thirty islands with over 35 beautiful square miles and over 100 miles of roads to explore and enjoy. Our journey to Washington Island begins as you bike onto the ferry and enjoy a scenic five mile route over crystal blue waters with views of the surrounding islands rocky shores, lush forests, and the serenity that you’re seeking. Your hectic pace becomes a distant memory and meaningful “enjoyment” begins. I love the Lavender Farm and gift shop and the many choices for shopping and eating. Very little car traffic as many visitors leave their car on the mainland.
Note: To bike to the ferry is 17.7 miles each way, then we take ferry to the Island where you may bike some more. Fish Creek to Washington Island & return 35.4 miles 1,400 ft elev

Biking this last day Fish Creek to Sturgeon Bay follows the west side of the peninsula to Egg Harbor and the Green Bay shoreline. 30 miles, 1026 elevation, https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51286293
We need every one back to first hotel by 1130 as we have people with outbound flights. Of course being driven is an option on van.
This should be a blast. If weather is wonky we will work to adjust things so you still get as much in as possible.
We can discuss the first night who wants to do which. While this isn’t advertised as a guided tour I (Paul) will probably do one of the two shorter ones at 11-13mph. Kevin usually does a longer one at 13-16mph rolling. Join us if you like our pace, start time and distance choice.

TRAINING Here are some tips on getting ready for the ride. How to Train for a Week-Long Bike Tour | ACTIVE
Is there a group start time to begin each day? Do I have to keep up with anyone? Have a fun ride at your own pace and leave the hotel whenever you wish. Hopefully this is a vacation! There is no mass start. Most riders leave between 7-9am. On our trips, everyone rides at his/her own pace, so you’ll generally have all day to complete the distance. Slower riders (or those planning on lots of photo ops or long lunches!) can plan to leave earlier in the morning, while those expecting to zoom down the trail may enjoy a leisurely breakfast and extra cup of coffee. Check in the day we switch hotels is 3pm, so plan your day accordingly. We find those who ride at a similar pace end up as riding partners, sharing each day's ride. Riders’ average speed on our tours range from 10-20mph. We encourage riders to take their time, stop and see the sights, and take pictures!
What about snacks? Riders will be provided with snacks for each day’s ride every morning. We will also indicate some restaurants, ice cream options, and convenience stores on the route maps.
See you soon!
